Dave is a skinny little punk!

This was El Sexy Boy being really funny on our road ride yesterday!

He's next to me!

Now a little bit ahead!

Pulling away...

Going, going, gone!

Finally I'm catching back up...Dave is stopped at a corner!

---

Our ride was so nice yesterday! It was super windy, but the sun and everyone else was out. Passing about 300 some odd cars on the Embarcadero was fun! Man those drivers get pissed! It makes me laugh!

It's Been Too Long!

Well it has been pretty much forever since my last post. However, it has been a successful few weeks. I got through finals and final papers, which was amazing because I almost thought I wouldn't! And then I packed up my place, ordered the storage locker, my dad and loaded it up, and then I moved into Amy and Dave's until I go to Rome...I can't wait!!!

As far as school goes I did really really well. I have most of my my grades and I got a B+ in my Van Eyck to Bruegel class, and my Poli Sci class, an A in my Southern Baroque class, and I should be getting an A in my English class, which means my GPA will raise to a 3.178! I am so so stoked about it! I did so well this semester, despite racing every weekend practically, crashing for a while, working, being more tired than ever, and having a god awful roommate! I made it and I am so happy its over!

So in 20 days I get on a plane at SFO and fly to Munich and then to Rome and start my four and half months of complete debauchery! It really won't be real until I land because I still haven't really understood that I am really going yet!

By the way I can't wait until New Years Eve! Fondue and Champagne...two of my favorite things!

And so it begins...

Today, in approximately 13 minutes, the true rush of finals starts for me. Well actually it started on Saturday: the library is open 24 hours, you see college students up before the sun, going to bed long after, the relentless studying, cramming, extra office hours, coffee, deprivation of sleep. You know what I'm talking about. Anyways, my art history final starts in very very soon and I thought I'd write a blog to take my mind off of it for a minute. Distract me from the psychos who freak out right before an exam and make me freak out.

Then I'm going for a ride. Raining or not I want to get on my bike. I want to have fun and forget about studying, for 2 hours at least. I'm so tired. I still think I am recovering from the race on Saturday! WOW!

Wish me luck everyone!!!!!! It's almost over!

The Weekend becomes the Week!

This weekend was pretty much...how do I put it...EPIC!!! The mud, the rain, the dirt, the running, you all know what I mean! And the party in Campbell was a lot of fun! Thank you Miss Mary...even though I didn't get the damn sunglasses!

So I am back at school...waiting for a review session to start at the moment...and I have three finals and a paper, but at least there's no class this week and I'm not working too much! OH MY GOD! I just saw someone walk in with a puppy, be right back! Okay I'm back and that puppy was extremely cute...this is why I need a camera phone. I could take a picture of him!

The best part of yesterday, other than Dave and I continuous saying how much our legs hurt and how tired we were, is when I found out that this was in my Offical Tiki Trot Finisher Goodie Bag:

It now will remain on my desk and possibly come to Rome as a reminder of how much I will miss all of my Bellas! Don't worry I even added some flair to Amy's road bike that I'm riding. (See under the saddle...It is a small lei with blue flowers. Along with the underseat pack it is supposed to give the blue and gold look)

Isn't the bike pretty! Especially when leaned up against my mountain bike in my apartment! Well I would much rather be sleeping, and I think I will take a nap after work, but I must go and start my review session for Northern Renaissance Art! This weekend rocked! But I am exhausted!

Getting there...

So I turned in my 12 pager on Durer yesterday morning, had my health clearance doctor's appointment and got it FedExed off, turned in my second art history this morning and I am some how getting closer to be done! And I have haven't had a complete nervous breakdown. (I know, I'm dramatic, but isn't that what you are supposed to do in college?) And the CAL gods, yes CAL has gods, many of them, and some of them are very, very evil, have smiled upon me! I talked to my Poli Sci GSI yesterday and she is going to let me take the final I was supposed to take tonight, tomorrow afternoon! How great is that?!!! I get an extra night to study and after she told the acid in my stomach actually stopped bubbling up and I began to breathe once again.

So sadly I will not be making it down to Surf City until tomorrow afternoon instead of tonight, but I won't be failing my Poli Sci Final. That was such a relief! Although I will definitely miss setting up the course, hopefully I will be able to get down there with some time to at least see what you guys have done! If not I will just hang out and serve wine on Friday night!

---

By the way, Berkeley has the fattest, most obese squirrels in the world. I saw one this morning that was easily comparable to a 400 pound human! They really are huge, and are not afraid of humans at all! They'll walk right up to you and beg for food! They are scary are fuck and I really don't like them! Maybe I can try and hit one with my bike...no I don't want to get squirrel blood on my bike! He he!

Okay, so here's my break!

Well, I am 7 pages in to my 10-12 page paper on Durer's Apocalypse Series and it's 7:30, this is a good sign. Maybe I will get to bed before the wee hours and actually be affored some sleep this evening! That is before I wake up and begin my next paper! And studying for that pesky poli sci final! So this is how I am spending my ten minute break from the paper writing: pacing up and down the hall of the art history library and blogging!

So I will forget the complaining for a moment...just a moment...and express my super super enthusiasm for this weekend. It's sad when a weekend of course building and working my ass off on a bike is what I consider my reprieve from school! But after that final on thursday night, I am running straight home, and I might possibly just drive to that final so I don't have to march to 20 minutes back to my place, and then get in my car and head for the city to hook up with Amy and Dave so we can drive to Watsonville! By the way, Hernando I expect an overly full glass of wine, if not the entire bottle, handed to me when we see you on Thursday around 9 or 10! Ok? But this weekend will be a lot of fun and if I'm lucky enough and the gods smile upon me I will win that cross bike too!

So here's to sweating, and pushing it when I have nothing left, and giving it my all because after this there's nothing more I have to give...oh yeah, I guess I should do that on the Saturday race too! Ha ha! And thank you all for your comments, they make me laugh when all I want to do is cry...I told you the complaing was only to be forgot for a moment! See you all soon and I'm looking forward to big, big hugs!

---

So if you all were wondering what the hell Durer's Apocalypse Series looks like, here it is. This is the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse unleashed upon the earth at the breaking of the first through fourth seals by the lamb. I feel like they are my professors and I am the one on the ground! Only kidding...those professors are miiiiiinnnnneeee, bitch!!!!!

Class, Papers, Finals...When am I going to Italy?

So this week is pretty brutal! Sometimes I really wish I did not go to Cal and I went to an easier school that did not expect so much out of you! I have an art history paper on Durer's Apocalypse Series due on Wednesday, another art history paper on Nicolas Poussin due Thursday, and a poli sci final on Thursday too! Oh yeah don't forget I have three more finals after that, another paper, and the race this weekend. The last paper is on Piers Plowman and that's pretty much the only thing I want to work on because it is so intersting and cool!

So I need good vibes, lots of them, sent my way and any extra energy anyone has lying around please wrap it up and send it to me! I would be very very thankful.

Well my saving grace in all of this work is I get to move out of my place after I am finished, bum around at Amy and Dave's for two weeks and then get on my flight to fly to Rome for four months! Hopefully I get through the next 2 1/2 weeks and make it to December 18th, the last day I have finals! Wish me luck!

I'm Doomed...

So now that I have broken down and added blogging to the list of things to do while online, I have now been lost to those of you who constantly blog, post, respond, put up pictures, videos, etc and will forever now be consumed by the undeniable urge to Blog!!! But I guess I cannot complain because at least now when I check all of your Blogs I can also give you something to read and take up more and more of your time that we all spend on the amazing and 'how could you live without it' internet! So in an hour or so we are off to Coyote Point to race and experience the general debauchery of cyclocross. Until then I will settle back into 'Piers Plowman' and the exploration of the infamous ending written by 'John But.' So here's to the wonderful world of blogging and soon I will break down Dave...um I mean El Sexy Boy...and get him to make his own blog. It will read: "I almost hit someone today. The weather was good." If anyone has any usefull blogging tips please forward.
